The Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore 'San Michele' from the Campanelli winery is a wine that expresses the essence of the hills of Cupramontana, in the province of Ancona. Produced entirely with Verdicchio grapes from a vineyard located in a north-eastern position, this wine stands out for its brilliant straw yellow color and golden reflections. It is a creation that carries with it the identity of the territory and the expertise of the producer, offering an opportunity to discover colors, aromas, and flavors that deserve to be explored.
The production of Verdicchio 'San Michele' Classico Superiore from the Castelli di Jesi by Campanelli is the result of a skillful combination of territory and traditional winemaking techniques. The grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation at controlled temperature, thus preserving the authenticity of the terroir to the fullest. After this phase, the wine matures for seven months in concrete on the lees, with frequent stirrings, in a process known as batonnage, which gives the wine a slight creaminess and complexity. Subsequently, the wine is left to rest in the bottle for at least nine months, allowing for complete integration of its elements and further maturation. This artisanal production philosophy combined with the use of indigenous yeasts highlights the attention to quality and respect for tradition, contributing to making this wine a true gem in the Marche wine landscape.
On the nose, the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore 'San Michele' by Campanelli opens with intense floral and herbaceous notes, with hints of elderflower and cut grass, intertwining with nuances of almond and lemon, enriched by mineral memories. On the palate, it manifests with pleasant sapidity, freshness, and moderate creaminess and body, making it extremely balanced and versatile. It is a perfect wine to be enjoyed on its own, perhaps as an aperitif, but it also pairs splendidly with seafood dishes, fresh cheeses, and light pasta dishes. Its longevity is guaranteed by a cellar aging capacity that can last up to 3-4 years, during which it evolves elegantly, enriching its complexity and refinement.
