Bastianich's Sauvignon is a white wine that is one of the spokesmen for the splendid expressive capacity that this grape variety has found over time within this particular area, characterised by the typical clayey-marly soil known as 'ponca'. The Bastianich family's link with this territory is historic. Ever since the first restaurants opened on the American continent, the promotion and enhancement of traditional Friulian wines, put on the menu in the various establishments, has played a major role in the progressive passion for these hills.
The eye in the vineyard is very attentive. The final fruit is accompanied in its growth with the utmost respect for the rhythms of nature. The Sauvignon grapes are selected in the vineyard, during manual harvesting; subsequently, a second selection takes place in the cellar to use only the best fruit. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel containers under the watchful eyes of the cellar staff.
The Sauvignon wants to impress right from the start. To the eye it is straw yellow. The nose is fresh, intense and is drawn into a whirlwind of sensations ranging from tomato leaf, citrus and hawthorn to lively menthol notes. On the palate it is agile and tickles with delicacy, freshness, to close juicy and with persistent depth. A wine firmly rooted in local tradition and with an eye on the new world.
