The Costa d'Amalfi Rosso by Marisa Cuomo is the label that best expresses the fragrant, sunny, and Mediterranean character of the reds from this small paradise of cliffs overlooking the blue of the sea. Bathed in sunlight and caressed by the wind, the vineyards are in ideal conditions to produce grapes of extraordinary quality. The wine is made from the two native red grape varieties of the area. The austere structure and depth of Aglianico wonderfully marry with the soft and rich fruit of Piedirosso, creating a perfect taste harmony. Due to its smoothness and immediacy, it is a very versatile label for food pairings, particularly suitable for accompanying pasta with flavorful sauces, baked pasta, or white meats.
The Costa d'Amalfi Rosso by Marisa Cuomo is the expression of one of the most prestigious wineries in Campania, which has been at the top of regional production for many years. The grapes of Piedirosso and Aglianico come from some parcels of the estate located in the municipality of Cetara and in the fraction Raito of Vietri sul Mare. The vineyards are cultivated on steep terraces overlooking the sea, at an altitude ranging from 100 to 250 meters, with a southward exposure. The Mediterranean climate, influenced by sea breezes and soils composed of limestone rocks, allows the vines to ripen grapes with a particularly elegant profile. At the end of the harvest operations, the bunches are sent for fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with skin maceration. The wine matures for several months in steel tanks and is then bottled.
The Costa d'Amalfi Rosso by Marisa Cuomo is a young and pleasantly simple wine, suitable for those who love smooth reds, not too structured and demanding. A choice that favors elegance over power and aromatic concentration. In the glass, it has a ruby red color with bright reflections. On the nose, it offers fragrant fruity aromas with scents of marasca, small red berry fruits, ripe cherry, currant, delicate hints of oriental spices, and a light touch of black pepper. On the palate, it is medium body, with harmonious tannins well integrated with a juicy and crunchy fruit, leading to a fresh, savory finish with good taste persistence.
